  1. TUNDRA WILDERNESS TOUR - 6 to 8 hour bus tour through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Tour drivers, educated and trained as naturalists, provide colorful information about the land and its animals. Drivers stop to point out geographical features and animals. Travel 53 miles into Denali National Park to the Toklat River. Hourly rest stops. Price includes box lunch w/ beverage. Available May 20 thru Sept. 15.
  2. TEKLANIKA TUNDRA WILDERNESS TOUR - During early May and late September, when the park road is still not fully accessible due to the harsh Alaskan winters, a modified Tundra Wilderness Tour, called the Teklanika Tour, is available. This bus tour mirrors the Tundra Wilderness Tour, however, only travels 30-miles into the park and is 4-5 hours in length. Includes light snack and hot beverage. Available May 15-19 & Sept. 16-21
  3. DENALI NATURAL HISTORY TOUR - Five hour, 19 mile bus journey into Denali National Park to the Primrose turn-around. Fully narrated by tour driver, including colorful information about the area's early inhabitants, flora and fauna. Hourly rest stops. Price includes light snack w/ beverage. Available May 15-Sept 20
  4. KANTISHNA EXPERIENCE TOUR - 11-12 hour bus tour. Travels 96 miles into the park. Follow in the footsteps on Fannie Quigley to the old gold town of Kantishna on this all day adventure to the end of the Park Road. Join a Certified Interpretive Guide on this unique experience to learn more about the park and to spend time in Kantishna learning about its interesting history and role in the formation of Interior Alaska. This experience also features a National Park Service Interpretive Ranger from Wonder Lake. The Kantishna Experience is the only tour to feature an Interpretive Ranger from the National Park Service.  Visit the home of Fannie Quigley herself as you tour through the town of Kantishna. Price includes box lunch w/ beverage. This tour includes limited walking. Available June 8-Sept 15.
  5. ROCK CREEK GUIDED HIKE - 3-4 hour tour. This “front country” experience offers explorers an opportunity to blend a pleasant hike on an improved trail inside the Park boundary, with a meaningful and educational visit to the unique Denali Visitor Center.  Guests are picked up by their interpretive guide and shuttled over to the Denali Visitor Center as the guide shares some of the basics about the unique history and attributes of Denali.  Once at the Visitor Center, you"ll have 30-45 minutes to spend browsing the insightful and eye-opening exhibits before embarking on their hike.  The participants will take off from there on a loop hike of approximately four miles on the Rock Creek Trail, returning back to the Visitor Center via the Roadside Trail. This moderate hike winds through a spruce and birch forest reminiscent of those that dominate the lower elevation hillsides of Denali National Park. Photo opportunities abound. Return transportation is provided back to the McKinley Chalet Resort. Available May 20-Sept 20.
  6. STEPS THROUGH TIME GUIDED HIKE - 3-4 hour tour Step away from the developed areas and immersing yourself in the tranquility of a hike through the mixed spruce, birch and alder forest that encompass the Denali area and Interior Alaska.  This guided hike will set you on the trail of discovery and adventure as your certified guide interprets many of the unique natural attributes of the area.  Visit an old hunting cabin and take in some of the spectacular scenery on this invigorating hike.  The trail is rustic and leads away from the lodges, gradually enveloping the hiker into a quiet and refreshing environment.  You’ll get a bird’s eye view of the glacially-carved Nenana River valley.  This is a moderately strenuous hike and proper footwear is essential in order to provide for good, secure footing along the trail.  You’ll need to step over exposed roots and around wet areas and boulder hop over Lynx Creek.  The trail rises in elevation at various spots and can provide a moderately strenuous workout for most participants. This is a well marked but unimproved trail still used by hikers, backpackers, and hunters to easily access some of the most beautiful wilderness areas of Denali.
  7. TRIPLE LAKES TRAIL INTERPRETIVE HIKE - 3-4 hr. tour. New for 2011, the Triple Lakes Trail inside Denali National Park is an exciting new offering providing visitors with one of the best opportunities for a serene immersion into the boreal forest of Interior Alaska. This adventure on an improved trail inside Denali National Park begins with a gradual and consistent hill climb providing spectacular views of the Nenana River and the expansive glaciallycarved Yanert Valley. The trail then descends and levels off to provide access to the three alpine lakes that give this trail its name. Beautiful views of the lakes, bounded by the elevated ridges, make for some outstanding photo opportunities. The lakes are abundant with arctic grayling and also home to resident beavers. Moose enjoy the sheltered valley and other small mammals are abundant increasing the opportunity for wildlife viewing. Countless wildflowers dot the hillsides adjacent to the trails and wild blueberries are abundant in August. This is a “must do” hike for any Denali visitor desiring to experience some solitude. This hike is rated moderately strenuous due to the reasonably steep ascent at the onset of this hike. Only avid hikers with appropriate conditioning and footwear should consider this option.
  8. TRIPLE LAKES TRAIL TRAVERSE ADVENTURE HIKE - 6-8 hrs. This challenging hiking adventure will take you on a 7.7 mile traverse of a newly opened trail inside Denali National Park. On this journey, you’ll trek through spruce, alder and birch forests, follow alpine ridges, walk along crystal clear lakes, view surrounding peaks and listen to the soothing sounds of mountain and stream. This trail takes you into the fringe of the Denali backcountry for an all encompassing hiking and adventure experience. Your guide is equipped with binoculars and the skills to provide a memorable and invigorating experience. Views of open valleys will give you a true sense of the immense forces of glaciation that carved the land. Photo opportunities abound throughout this hike. Quiet moments of reflection can be experienced along the tranquil lakes or while enjoying the mountain vistas from a ridge top vantage.This hike will challenge both your senses and your conditioning but will likely rank as one of the best hiking experiences of a lifetime.This hiking tour is rated “extremely difficult” and is designed for experienced hikers only. Participants must be seasoned hikers and have proper footwear and personal gear for an extended day hike.
  9. SUGARLOAF SUMMIT ADVENTURE HIKE - 6-8 hrs. This invigorating trek above the tree line challenges visitors on one of the steepest hiking trails in the area. You’ll start your hike in the mixed spruce forest, transition to alder and willow and eventually give way to alpine tundra and scree. Trekking all the way to the summit is a steep hike of almost 1600 vertical feet and can offer one of the most spectacular views of Denali and the surrounding peaks on a clear day. Dall sheep reside in the higher elevations and sometimes hikers have to yield the right of way to these majestic residents. Frequent opportunities for resting provide more opportunities for examining the landscapes both large and small. The developed areas gradually shrink as you gain elevation and the immensity of your surroundings will engulf the senses. Skilled and trained interpretive guides lead the way and can point out the stark and subtle characteristics of the area.This hiking tour is rated “extremely difficult” and is designed for experienced hikers only. Participants must be seasoned hikers and have proper footwear and personal gear for an extended day hike.
