Indian Valley Mine

What Attraction
Indian Valley Mine offers visitors the opportunity to learn gold panning, browse through an assay building filled with mining artifacts and pictoral history of Alaska, visit our gift shop, or just to sit back on one of our benches or picnic tables and take in the panoramic view of the Turnagain Arm. Enjoy a great afternoon or early evening trip for visitors of all ages and of course, we make a great destination for those Alaskan sourdoughs that are looking for an inexpensive and close place to take the kids during the summer. The Indian Valley Mine is locally significant for its association with lode mining and early settlement on the Turnagain Arm. The Cabin and Assay building are the oldest structures on the Turnagain Arm and are listed as a National Historic Site.
