The Iditarod is the premiere event of the festive winter season. This historic race brings together Iditarod veterans and newcomers pitting them in a grueling 1,000-mile challenge. The "Musher's Ball" and send-off in downtown Anchorage are celebrations without compare in the lower 48. Come be part of the excitement on this one of a kind tour

    Itinerary:
    February 27 Anchorage

    Transfer to your downtown hotel and enjoy the rest of the day on your own. Overnight Anchorage.


    February 28 Anchorage

    Tour Anchorage, including stops at the Anchorage Zoo, Anchorage Museum and Lake Hood; the world's largest and busiest floatplane base. This evening, attend the Iditarod Gala known as the "Musher's Ball." Overnight Anchorage.

    February 29 Anchorage-Alyeska-Anchorage

    Today's happenings include a scenic motor coach drive from Anchorage to the world-renowned Alyeska Ski Resort. Admire the scenery as the scenic Seward Highway curves around Turnagain Arm. You'll enjoy stops at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and at the Portage Glacier Begich-Boggs Visitor Center to browse the informative glaciology exhibits. Return back to Anchorage for your overnight stay

    March 1 Anchorage

    Attend the ceremonial start of the Iditarod, in downtown Anchorage and cheer on your favorite team! Overnight Anchorage.

    March 2 Anchorage – Willow

    Motor coach from Anchorage to Willow for the offical start of the Iditarod sled dog race! Overnight Anchorage.

    March 3 Anchorage
    Transfer to the Anchorage airport (flights must be after 11am), where we'll say goodbye.
