  A. PLANET EARTH ADVENTURES START TOUR - 4 Day/4 Night Tour package. Itinerary as follows:
Day 1 (Thursday) - Enjoy Fur Rendezvous Winter Festival events downtown today. When conceived, the Fur Rondy celebrated the at-long-last return of snowed-in miners with the winter’s yield. The drive of modern industry and technology more or less put a stop to that, but the festival just kept growing. Today, it’s more a celebration of Alaska itself, its traditions, its people and its history. We will provide you with a schedule of events. This evening we will pick you up and head to the Mushers banquet where you will have excellent opportunities to meet and have your photo taken with your favorite musher. An event that you don’t want to miss. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2 (Friday) - Experience the highlights of Turnagain Arm as we drive south on the Seward Highway. This road is considered to be America’s most beautiful and scenic road, crossing mountain passes and majestic valleys. We will make a couple of stops for photo opportunities along the way. We will stop at Alyeska and take the tram up for stunning views of Turnagain Arm. Later we will visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and observe Alaskan wildlife in a natural setting. The Wildlife Conservation Center is a non-profit rescue and rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned animals. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 3 (Saturday) - Today you will experience the unmatched excitement of the start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Anchorage, an event that draws big crowds. You will have VIP pass to access restricted areas. Interact with mushers and dogs with this pass. Later this afternoon, we will go to the Alaska Native Heritage Center* and listen to fascinating stories about Alaska’s native cultures and get an insightful perspective into traditional native ways of life. Programs and exhibits demonstrate how Alaskan Natives fulfill their culture today. The Village Store provides an outlet for authentic Native arts and crafts. After the tour, you will have a free day to enjoy local activities, shopping, or dining in Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 4 (Sunday) - Today we will board our comfortable van, and travel north to Willow, home of the Iditarod Headquarters and the official re-start of the Iditarod race. Experience the excitement of cheering for your favorite mushers as they set out for a 1050-mile race to Nome. Again, you will have VIP access to the restricted areas. Overnight in Anchorage.

This package includes: transportation from Anchorage and admission to the above attractions. Meals and taxes are extra. Available March 3-6 2011
